- HUD has issued the 2008 Income Limits. The 2008 Income Limits are effective
2-13-2008 and must be updated in your TRACS software. Click on the following
link; it will allow you to pull the Income Limits for your area.

Multifamily Housing Programs was posted to HUDCLIPS on 7/16/07. A transmittal

- The 2008 Fair Market Rents (FMRs) were published in the Federal Register
on October 1, 2007. These new FMRs are effective on October 1, 2007.

- Posted August 31, 2007 - HUD has released new renewal contracts that are
to be used for all renewals effective after June 30, 2007. They have added
language to page 2, Paragraph 2 of the renewal contract to demonstrate how
much funding has been obligated for the housing assistance payments and
the approximate number of months it will cover. The new contracts are
available for review at http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/mfh/exp/guide/s8guideatt.cfm.
If you have already signed and returned contracts to SHCC, we will be sending
new contracts to you for signature within the next several days. Because
of the delay that can occur at the end of HUD's fiscal year, it is important
that all contracts expiring before 10/1/07 are renewed as soon as possible.
In order to expedite the process, we will be sending the contracts via email
whenever possible. We ask that you sign two copies and return them immediately.

- HUD has issued a new set of Q & As on the Student Rule. The
new Q & As replace the Supplementary Guidance issued April 12, 2006
and include additional guidance to the Supplementary Guidance issued April
10, 2006. Click on the following link to access HUD's new set of Q &

- HUD has posted materials on fraud prevention, including a Guidance for
Managers. The "Fraud Worth It?" brochure, available in English
and Spanish, replaces the "Things You Should Know" pamphlet. Click

- HUD's Mark-to-Market program has been
extended through September 30, 2011.
OAHP, which administers the Mark-to-Market program. The program was extended
as part of the full-year Continuing Resolution signed into law February
22, 2007.
- HUD issued a revised Document Package
for Applicant's/Tenant's Consent to the Release of Information (9887/A Fact
Sheet, form HUD-9887 and form HUD-9887-A).
The revised forms are effective January 18, 2007 and should be used. Click

- The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) was signed into law in January
2006. VAWA applies to residents of public housing and Section 8 multifamily
housing programs. Among other things, it prohibits the removal of subsidy
assistance and eviction of Section 8 residents if the grounds for taking
the action is an instance of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual
assault or stalking. HUD has issued a Notice (PIH 2006-23) regarding implementation
of VAWA, and additional Guidance in PIH 2006-42 which includes information
on a newly issued Certification Form. Click on the links below to access

8 housing.
